Privacy Policy for JSON Toolbox
JSON Toolbox is a browser-based developer workspace. The main JSON tools are designed to process your data locally, while optional account, analytics, sharing, and settings features may use Firebase or Google services.

What JSON Toolbox Processes Locally
JSON Toolbox is designed so core JSON workflows run in your browser. Formatting, validation, minification, comparison, editing, conversion, visualization, schema generation, file imports, copying, and downloads happen client-side.
The JSON you paste, type, import, or generate in these tools is not uploaded to JSON Toolbox servers for normal tool processing.
Information You Choose to Send
If you use features that explicitly share or save data, the content needed for that feature may be sent to Firebase services. For example, shared JSON data can be stored in Firestore so it can be retrieved later.
If you add JSON through a URL query parameter, that URL may be visible to your browser, browser history, extensions, network logs, analytics tools, or anyone you share the link with. Avoid putting secrets in URLs.
Account and Settings Data
Signing in with Google is optional. When you sign in, Firebase Authentication may provide account details such as your user ID, display name, email address, and profile photo so JSON Toolbox can show your account state.
Your editor settings, including theme and keyboard preferences, are saved in your browser. When you are signed in, settings may also be synced to Firestore for your account.
Analytics
JSON Toolbox uses Firebase Analytics to understand page views and broad product usage, such as when a new workspace is created. This helps improve the site.
Analytics events are intended to avoid storing JSON payload contents, file contents, or private values from your documents.
Browser Storage and Cookies
JSON Toolbox uses browser storage such as localStorage for preferences. Firebase and Google sign-in may use cookies or similar technologies to provide authentication, analytics, fraud prevention, and service reliability.
You can clear local site data through your browser settings. Some features may reset or stop working until you sign in again or reconfigure your preferences.
Third-Party Services
JSON Toolbox relies on Firebase and Google services for optional authentication, analytics, and data storage features. External links, such as creator profile or support links, are governed by the privacy practices of those sites.
The site may also load fonts, icons, or other assets from third-party providers needed to render the interface.
Data Retention and Deletion
Browser-only data remains on your device until you clear it or the browser removes it. Account settings stored with Firebase may remain until deleted from the service.
To request deletion of account-linked settings or shared data stored by JSON Toolbox, contact the maintainer using the contact details below.
Security
No online tool can guarantee absolute security. JSON Toolbox reduces exposure by keeping routine JSON processing in the browser and by avoiding server-side processing for core tools.
Do not paste secrets, credentials, private keys, access tokens, regulated data, or production customer data into any online tool unless you have confirmed it is appropriate for your use case.
Children's Privacy
JSON Toolbox is built for developers and is not directed to children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the site, please contact the maintainer.
Changes to This Policy
This policy may be updated as JSON Toolbox changes. The updated date on this page indicates the latest revision.
